Tech Support Engineer – London – 6 month contract – Inside ir35 – IT Consultancy

Arcas Technology is partnered with a leading IT Consultancy that is seeking a highly experienced Tech Support Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract, working directly at their client's site.

Your role

Your experience and skills

· Good problem solving and diagnostic skills.

· Ability to support and deliver a high-quality IT service to the business.

· Ability to read and write Unix shell & Perl scripts.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple, concurrent / conflicting priorities.

· Self-driven, highly motivated and have very high standards concerning quality of service delivered and attention to detail, where they lead by example and expect the same behavior of other colleagues.

· Knowledge of ITIL incident and problem management

· Solid Unix and Linux knowledge and practical working experience including Shell scripting (Sun Solaris, Linux)

· Good knowledge in relational databases (Sybase, Oracle) / query (SQL)

· Excellent communication skills.

· Capability to understand client / end user issues and translating this into problem statement for further investigations within IT

· Have worked in an Investment Bank front office environment before, preferably in the Equities Derivatives space.

· Equity Derivative product knowledge.

Nice to have:

· Understanding of Networks (TCP/IP)

· Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl

· Knowledge of the FIX protocol is beneficial.

· Azure cloud fundamentals

· Knowledge of AppDynamics, Moogsoft & Splunk

Salary: £300.00-£500.00 per day
