Role Overview & Responsibilities
Applications are invited for the post of Physics Access Officer
The post is available initially for a fixed-term duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
This post is part time working at 18.75 hours per week
This is a challenging post offering the opportunity to lead a strategic access programme, targeting under-represented groups, in the context of wider university and national policies and planning.
A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required due to undertaking regulated activity involving children.
The successful candidate will manage current activities in the programme and will initiate and deliver new activities to support the programmeโs aims.
Applicants should have a good first degree in Physics, Engineering or Maths.
Previous experience of engaging young people (age 14-18) with physics concepts, in particular those that involve problem solving skills or conceptual ideas, is essential.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver stimulating lectures, workshops and masterclasses to school students and teachers.
