Role Overview & Responsibilities

Our Client manufactures a range of adaptive polymer-based material technologies that deliver both performance and environmental responsibility at scale. Their polymer technology offers excellent functionality that is both recyclable and environmentally safe enabling multiple end-of-life options.


Responsibilities;

  • Improving the efficiency, robustness and operability of existing product chemistries and processes.
  • Developing new chemical processes for the manufacture of polymers and other biocompatible materials.
  • Improving and understanding of the chemical reactions that occur during the lab and manufacturing processes.
  • Designing and carrying out laboratory scale experimental chemistry work to develop manufacturing processes.
  • Provide input to root cause problem solving teams and lead incident investigations related to subject area.
  • Resolve technical queries and provide support to the production teams.
  • Conduct & assist other team members with testing in the Laboratories.
  • Liaise with customers to co-ordinate projects and relay results and interpretation.
  • Modification of standard equipment as required for specific tests.
  • Perform analyses related to product development, stability, and process scale up.
  • Execute experiments to generate scientific understanding in the development of analytical and materials science methods and during formulation development of new products.
  • Develop and take responsibility for the accuracy of detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets and drawings to specify the process engineering requirements of our technologies.
  • Demonstrate, provide, and develop appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues.

Candidate profile

  • Degree in chemistry/process/chemical/mechanical engineering
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a quality assured manufacturing environment (food/pharma/plastics) as a chemical or process engineer

Monday – Friday 8:30 - 5pm. 25 days holiday.
